Rainbows :)

Rainbow ATC
I got this lamp from my Mom last year
besides it catches the light
when the sun shines
It creates rainbows everywhere
Even in the hall where these little rainbows are reflected by the miror
I just love rainbows, don't you?
Have a rainbow day!

Cactus Monday / Shanghai cactus garden

In Shanghai (last week) I walked past the little cactus garden.
Remember the watermelon cactus from last time?
That specific container was gone, but the love for cacti was still there
and many more cacti and containers to admire.
Ever seen a red colored cactus?
Could it be real..........?
Happy Cactus Monday!

Animal Wednesday / Pup

I am working on a few things, but I can't show them just yet.....
So here is an oldie, a little mandala I was commissioned to make for Pup.
(Isn't that a cute name for a girl?)
In this mandala I painted an Egyptian Bennu.
The Bennu bird was an imaginary bird resembling a heron. It had a two long feathers on the crest of it's head and was often crowned with the Atef crown of Osiris (the White Crown with two ostrich plumes on either side) or with the disk of the sun. Meaning: The Bennu was the sacred bird of Heliopolis. Bennu probably derives from the word weben, meaning "rise" or "shine." The Bennu was associated with the sun and represented the Ba or soul of the sun god, Ra. In the Late Period, the hieroglyph of the bird was used to represent this deity directly. As a symbol of the rising and setting sun, the Bennu was also the lord of the royal jubilee.

Simeon's Got Talent!

Here another season of Holland's got Talent! has started. Just wanted to share this video of a Dutch boy, living in Orlando, who joined America's Got Talent this year. The thing I liked most was his mother smiling from ear to ear with pride. The video just gives me a happy feeling. Enjoy it! Have a happy weekend!

Animal Wednesday / Lara

Lara, born June 30 2010
Birth mandala made with watercolors and micron pen.
For her birth month I chose 6 indigo dolphins, symbol of

Playfulness

Transcendence

Gentleness

Harmony

Intelligence

Contentment

Friendship

Community

Resurrection

Generosity

and Power

Dolphins are viewed as free-spirited, happy and fun-loving. In Native American symbolism, dolphins mean joy, harmony and a connection with one's higher self. The intelligence of dolphins is well-documented, including their ability to learn sign language, to communicate with their own complex language and their ability to form deep attachments to humans. They have also been known to protect humans from shark attacks or even save them from drowning. There are almost 40 species of dolphins. They are closely related to whales and porpoises. Dolphins have a streamline body that is perfect for fast swimming. Dolphins have extrememly sharp hearing and eyesight. They have no sense of smell, but their sense of taste may serve a similiar function since they live most of their lives beneath the surface of the water.

Is there anyone who doesn't like dolphins??????

I don't think so. I think they are very special creatures.

Have a dolphin day!

For Peter

A friend of ours died last week at the age of 49.
I made this card for my friend Daniƫlle and her daughter Sophie who are heartbroken by the loss of her dear husband and Father.
Peter was cremated today. Sometimes life seems unfair and unpredictable.
Peter knew, after a lung transplant, how to enjoy life, I admire him for that.
Enjoy life dear people! Make every moment count and tell your loved ones you love them.
Feel the good things, which are given to you........hear the birds whistle for you.........see the beauty around you, just for you!. Open up your senses. The best things in life are free.

Food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was the picture waiting for me when I came down one morning.
Five of my 6 cats in one spot waiting for food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is not the best picture, especially with the flash in those eyes, but I loved this sight of them all together with the same goal. Even Sjimmie teamed up with the girls.
Aren't cats adorable?!
