Fall is really here............... I saw Lars just for 2 hours and off he was to Delft. He has his Autumn holiday now but the next few days he will be busy searching for a room in Delft. Today I won't be doing much.

Dahye's mandala

Dahye 30-03-1981

Long admired for being a symbol of peace, the Dove is also a messenger of deep symbolic love. Slavic legend states that upon dying, the soul is transformed into a Dove which wings its way into the loving heavens. In Hinduism the Dove is an emblem of the spirit, and the inifinite capacity the spirit has for love. In Greco-Roman mythology, the dove was a sacred creature to Aphrodite/Venus. Ancient Jewish practices permitted the Dove to be sacrificed as a love gift which signified the purification of a new mother after childbirth. In the West, the Dove (as well as turtledoves) symbolize love and are frequently seen in wedding traditions.

Dahye's Life Path number is 7.

You are the searcher and the seeker of the truth. You have a clear and compelling sense of yourself as a spiritual being . As a result, your life path is devoted to investigations into the unknown, and finding the answers to the mysteries of life.

Dahye and Hyeonsoo part 4

Here are the backgrounds for their Life Path and orientation number.
Dahye's Life path is 7 (blue-violet) , Hyeonsoo's 8 (red-violet) and they have both another outcome for the background color .
Forgot to take a picture of Dahye's one with the violet petals painted, but you can see the outlines.
7 makes the blue-violet background and 1 the red one.

Tomorrow the animals will be flown in.

Dahye and Hyeonsoo part 3

Today Dayhe and Hyeonsoo will get married. They came all the way from Korea to do so.
I am happy for them that today the weather will be perfect as from tomorrow we will get typical autumn weather again.

In both their mandalas I painted the same middle part as they are both born in 1981

9 (rainbow colors) lotus petals. The Lotus (padma) is a very important symbol in Buddhism. It refers to the complete purification of body, speech and mind, and the blossoming of wholesome deeds. The lotus refers to many aspects of the path, as it grows from the mud (samsara), up through muddy water it appears clean on the surface (purification), and finally produces a beautiful flower (enlightenment). The blossom represents purity, the stem stands for the practice of Buddhist teachings which raise the mind above the (mud of) worldly existence, and gives rise to purity of the mind. An open blossom signifies full enlightenment; a closed blossom signifies the potential for enlightenment.
8 (red violet) 2 intertwining squares
1 (red) band of unbreakable love, which form a Celtic knot work together.

I wish them both a long marriage full of happiness

Dahye and Hyeonsoo step 2

The Millennium Ring
Dahye's is made of one red band with all kinds of sparkle.
Symbol for unbreakable love.

Hyeonsoo's  Millennium Ring has an Ouroboros.

Ouroboros is a symbol used in ancient cultures around the world. It consists of a snake biting its own tail, forming a circle, and like other circular motifs, it can symbolize unity or the cyclical nature of many aspects of life. The "tail-devourer" is the symbolization of concepts such as completion, perfection and totality, the endless circle of existence, etc. By swallowing its own tail it expresses the essence of Gnostic esotericism. It is both an amulet against suffering and a representation of the cosmos, "the circle of eternal becoming," often meant with the words "One is the All."

Both circles are red as this color belongs to number 1

Have a nice day :)

Dahye and Hyeonsoo part 1

My friend Dami asked me to paint 2 mandalas as a wedding gift.
It was on short notice so I had to work all the time I had between my last few flights to get them done in time. And they are.
Dahye and Hyeonsoo will get married on Thursday.
They came all the way from Korea for this special day.
I decided to paint them at the same time. I got this idea as they are both born in the same year.
Normally I start and don't know where I will end but this one I designed in my head first. I already knew from the start which animals I wanted to use.
Well it was all a bit unusual but I think it turned out fine.
I will take you along on the journey I had in my mind and which came alive on canvas.
Dahye
Is born 30/03

I painted 3 yellow/golden Borromean rings. They consist of three circles or ellipses linked together to form a Brunnian link. This mathematical term means that no two of the rings are linked, yet they are all linked.
There is Love. There is Hope. And there is Faith.
There is Birth and there is Life, and there is Death.
The Sun, the Moon and the Stars.
The body, the mind, and the spirit.
All of these things are best in threes and are never enough by themselves.

Each 2 rings are linked again 3 times for the month of her birth date. So 6 rings in total

Hyeonsoo
Is born 14/2 (Valentine's Day)

1 (red) ball, symbol of energy and beginning.
4 (green) rowan berry leaves
2 (orange) branches of rowan berries, symbol of protection. The rowan has long been honored by the Celts for its balance of beauty and hardiness. When we silence ourselves long enough to listen to the rowan speaking. We hear her message: "look deeper, see through the object before your eyes and you will encounter visions into the worlds beyond the one you physically know." The wood of the rowan is traditionally used for divination tools and objects such as runes and wands. Rowan branches are the prime choice for divining rods. Druids also crafted rowan wood into their staffs. The druids maintained the rowan as a sacred container for protective energy. It resonates a high, clear vibration that naturally transforms lower (negative) energies. This is why it is revered as a protective symbol. We see more evidence of this protective energy in the white flowers of the rowan. Beautiful, bold, and crisp, these white flowers are symbolic of cleansing and safekeeping. From these flowers, crimson berries come forth. At the base of each berry is a tiny five-pointed star, an ancient symbol of protection, which lends further merit to the protective qualities of the rowan tree. These berries attract all kinds of songbirds and the Celts interpreted this as a positive omen – a blessing of goodwill, honor and peace.

More next time:)
Have a wonderful week!
