These pictures were taken last year
When Felix and I traveled to New York, Rhode Island and P-town.
We visited Ground Zero, which was very emotional to me.
Just across the street there was a fire department
and while there a truck came out
of Department 10
They lost 6 of their bravest fire fighters
Time heals all wounds, but it seems this one stays just as it was 10 years ago.
All week I have looked at several TV specials. I can never watch without pain in my heart and tears in my eyes.
Just 6 of so many heroes, just 6 of too many victims.
After 10 years it is still too much to understand, too much to forgot .
I will remember today the shock of 10 years ago. This changed my live as well. Just like it did of so many people. Please don't let any madness like this ever happen again.
my sweet friend,
ReplyDeletei can feel your emotion writing this. marianne. i can guess how much you felt and understood about the plane crews, what they had to do. what went on inside those planes actually haunts me even more than what went on inside those buildings.
i just did a post too. i'll bet there will be many. none of us will ever forget. ....returned to dust.....
marianne, i am glad and honored that we are friends. my only regret is that you live so far.

thank you for these pictures, i have not visited the site. i can only imagine the complex emotions that arise. it is good to remember those we have lost.
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing your very personal memory of that day. i think in a way we are all still in a bit of shock. i try my best to turn the sorrow and sometimes anger that i feel, into love. so much love has come out of this.
ReplyDeletesending peace and love dear marianne.
its still so tough
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marianne. This is also too emotional for me to watch. I do feel the entire world feels our pain. We feel it every time there is an attack elsewhere. Will evil ever stop?
ReplyDeleteIt IS tough - and sad....but, we, as a world, must try and turn the tide of evil by living as good and unselfish life as we can....
ReplyDeleteI guess you could say we must lead by example....our small but passionate blogging community is a perfect example of this....we all love and care about each other - we wish only happiness and peace and health, joy and love for each other....
Life is short - there are no guarantees, but live each day to its fullest.
OK - enough from me.....one other comment - looking at der Wunderkind's photo from last year....wow , has he grown! He really is a young man now.
Sending you warm and loving hugs all the way to Beijing!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
Shalom.
