Finally I have something to show.
I have finished this painting yesterday in my Wednesday art class.
I went there by car for the first time myself. I haven't driven since last month!
First I was not allowed because of the general anesthesia I had last month. Later I got medicines which didn't allow me to drive.
Now I hope all is behind me and that I am really turning the corner this time.
And I mean the American corner ;) (in Dutch it has a whole different meaning)
Anyway, I am happy to feel better at last and this week I picked up a few creative projects. I have finished a mandala I started last year, which I can't show you just yet. I have started designing mandalas for a school project which I will do in February.
And yesterday I have finished this painting! YEAH!
I have no idea what it is or what I want with it. No title yet. Any suggestions?
Well glad to be back creating and sharing and as usual I have a lot of catching up to do..........
See U around
Have a nice day

I bet that just getting out and driving yourself around made you feel better. Good to hear.
ReplyDeleteYour painting is brilliant. The colors are so clear and cheerful.
I am starved for color.
I see many things in this painting.
ReplyDeleteI see the swirls on the outside as "turning the corner" (US version, afraid to ask what other way there is to interpert this!)
I also see fierce teeth...perhaps the layer of illness and struggle you had to go through in order to turn the corner. So then I am not sure if the first layer of yellow is the "illness" or a seed of hope for good health from now on.
Perhaps a title from all of this is "Path to Health"...
Again, you may have just been happily painting your joy of being well again. Stay that way.
I am so happy to hear you are doing so well. And more happy to see you painting again, and painting such a beauty! I love the blues and green together. They remind of the deep blue sea with a pearl of happiness in the middle.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.....I was thinking of a pearl amid the sea.....and I see so did Teri! I always love the mysterious way a pearl is created....so perhaps this is YOUR pearl - your health forming into a new, lusterous and wonderful Marianne!
ReplyDeleteNo matter what...it is beautiful.....dreamy, yet strong and full of passion!
Welcome Back!!!
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
I don't know what you're going to call it, but I call it beautiful. I love the swirly design and it is so very cheery and uplifting.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that you are feeling more chipper. Sounds like you are keeping busy.
oh so wonderful to hear you were out an about and to boot at a cool art class Marianne!!!! I love this new painting!!!! you are so talented!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!!!
OH!!!!!I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been so behind in blogs and emails, just came home from bringing my painting to the frame shop and the first thing I see is this neauty!!
Here's what I see in it...
Lots of houses along both sides of a lake with sunshine and trees! The top left edge may be the hint of a sunset later in the day.
I don't know what I'd call it...perhaps "Village of the sun?" I just love it! It's so flowing and organic and ALIVE!
Gotta run, making more soup!!
I hope to email later.
yay you for driving and getting well again!!
xoxoxo
Love,

Glad you're coming around and getting back on your feet - or back in the car.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that popped into my mind when I saw your painting was a pregnant belly - so how about calling it "Expecting" or "Anticipation"... I like it :-)
neauty??
ReplyDeleteAnd that was BEFORE wine ;)

ReplyDeletei totally love this painting. i love it! i look at it and i don't know if it feels abstract or metaphorical or concrete, but i get a clear and affirming message that it's okay for the center to be off center.
this is very different than most of your mandalas and i know it comes after a forced period feeling well again. we know the sun always comes up again no matter what.
i love it, marianne.

I'm so glad you are starting to feel better. There's nothing like finishing a painting to give a sense of accomplishment. It's beautiful and still has that element of a circle which you are famous for! My first thought was it looked like a magical or dreamlike musical instrument. Maybe Dream Music? I love everyone elses comments - art is so personal, we all see it differently!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear you are on the mend now. That's one lovely painting - full of colour and life! I see lots of little Dutch houses, trees, sunshine - but like you, not sure what to call it! Take good care Marianne!x
ReplyDeleteI would call it NEW LIFE! Makes me think of the birthing process too!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you are on the road to being completely healed after your surgery!! Keep up the good work! Miss you and love ya...Julie
