(2009)
In 2009 I made this Christmas card.
A while ago a dear friend of mine asked if she could use the image on her funeral card when she died.
I made her an original inspired on the Christmas mandala.
On Monday I received the card with my own mandala on the back of it.
I know she is at peace now. As she always was, in this life as well.
I am happy she is no longer in pain. I will miss my special friend.
I know little people who are so full of love and positivity as she was.
She was a one in a million..............
She has been my son Lars's speech therapist for over 9 years. Someone who believed in him
and loved him.
That's how we became friends.
I will be forever grateful that she came in his life and mine.
My dogs adored her, well I must say everyone who met her did.
The day she told me the bad news. Last July.
The first mandala I ever made. The canvas was not big enough ;)
(no wonder)
I did a second one years later.
and loved him.

My beautiful friend Goedele
I said goodbye Tuesday and on my way to the car she sent me this rainbow
I know you are home dear, you didn't even had to look for it..........
I am so sorry for your loss Marianne. This year has been such a sad year. I am looking forward to the coming year hoping that it will not be so sad. Blessings to you and Felix. I know you both shall miss her.
ReplyDeleteDear Marianne,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, touching tribute to your wonderful friend. I wish I had known her. I can tell she had that "special something" that only a few possess. (Like you.)She was a pretty lady too. And so special to Lars and Felix.
I know she's at peace on her new journey. She let you know that with the rainbow.
I'm sad for you and her family. I'm so very glad you were there for her and will be even now.
Lots of love and light to you,
xoxo Lo♥
This is a beautiful post. There are no words when someone you love dies.Big, giant hugs. xoxo
ReplyDeleteGoedele came into you and Lar's life and brought her joy, her skill and her love. What she did for Lars was HUGE....now, wherever he goes - he will take a part of Goedele with him. As will all of you...
ReplyDeleteTo share the final moments of a loved one is sad - yes, but a real gift of strength to the one dying...
That Rainbow WAS a gentle kiss from Goedele to you.
My Renee candle is burning today....
Love,
♥ Robin ♥
