Happy New Year everyone!
Just came home from an unexpected surprise visit to SF.
Of course I had a wonderful time with Robin.
I forgot my camera, so pictures are taken with my cell phone.
Here is a little impression:
We celebrated Christmas and New Year
At Sir Francis Drake
Now that's what I call trees!
Talking with Lo :)
delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saint Patrick's, I love this old and new architecture together
We burned candles for Goedele, as I missed her ceremony that Saturday
And for my Mom, who had her birthday
And for Minoes who is very sick and probably won't get better again.
We talked to Lo, Emma and Bliss. We had a clearer view (believe me) than this ;)
Here is to friendship and a wonderful 2013!
Had a marvelous dinner at the Waterbar
another toast
Outside...........
We saw the moon over the Bay Bridge
It was just as always a wonderful visit.
And I flew home and was just in time to celebrate New Years Eve here.
To be quite honest I don't like New Years Eve for several reason.
But a nice surprise was that 10 minutes after 12 my doorbell rang and it was Lars.
We thought he would spend New Years Eve in Delft, but he changed plans and spent the evening with friends here in Zierikzee.
He came home to kiss us Happy New Year and to pick up his sleeping bag ;)
And off he went into the night which sounded like World war 3. You wouldn't believe our country is in crisis when people bought for 70 million euro of fireworks....... What a waste......
Glad it is over and my animals are doing OK.
I hope 2013 has a lot of good in store for you.
Stay healthy and happy :)
♥♥♥
sounds like a wonderful visit with Robin. fireworks! i even heard a few here. have a wonderful 2013
ReplyDeleteFireworks were blasting here too. It is great that you and Robin were able to get together. It looks like you had a great time. Many blessings...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Marianne! It looks like you had a fabulous time with Robin. Glad that Lars came home, too. My oldest was here and shared a bottle of bubbly with us. :) Here's to a wonderful 2013! xo
ReplyDeletewhat fun to see your photos; such a fun wonderful time: two friends welcoming each other and the year to come.
ReplyDeletei had to laugh at suki's comment about lobsters because to my surprise i've begun to feel the same way. i had no idea as i got older i would become softer and more indignant about how species treat species...
i have high hopes for the new year. i absolutely wish yours to be much much much calmer and without loss. i am very sorry about minoes, marianne. it is so sad and unexplainable to have to say goodbye to a loving companion. i do know you will meet again
i raise my teacup to you and hope our travels find one another :^)
with love

What a treat to see your pictures and see what a great visit you had. and i'm so glad Lars stopped home to see you (good excuse about the sleeping bag!). I was in bed by 9:30 last night, am not a big fan of "looking back" to the done year. Happy New Year Dear Marianne - I have to plan a trip to SF this year to see lots of friends and maybe - just maybe - it could coincide with a visit by you so that three of us could toast together.
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous! I love seeing all your photos and reading about your trip - it is a place that I would love to visit one day, maybe as a stopover on my way to Hawaii! ;)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely, blessed and creatively productive 2013.
Lisa :)
I've been thinking about Minoes since you've gone home. How is she?
ReplyDeleteI leave my computer on all day even when I'm not home, so maybe that's why you "see" I'm online when I'm not really.
Plumbing issues here tonight :(
Like before when the toilet exploded, remember??? The landlord has called a plumber for tomorrow. here's hoping it's not too late.
I'm off Thursday and Saturday and Sunday. I'd love to Skype again!
Miss you. Happy always, dear one.
xo
Lo♥

ReplyDeleteI love your header and background. The colours are very sweet and girly. The new font also reflects that!
Wow! By looking at the photos and the sharing you talked about. Your New Year count down was a special one.
I hope we all continue to be creative and work hard for more celebrations to come in 2013!
I am with you on the New Years fireworks!!! Just a big expense and noise! Somehow it is different here on 4th of July tho! ;)
