The first
The second
Can you see the similarities and differences?
I went wrong with the year of her birth, in the first I painted 1977 in the second 1967.
One number makes a huge difference in the outcome.
Hope you enjoyed the process of the second mandala
I did :)

It is interesting to see how it develops Marianne. I think they are both beautiful but I know the second is more meaningful because it has the correct date.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa!
Deleteboth are beautiful. ah well, i know dates and numbers seems solid but in some ways they are arbitrary. maybe the first one was the one she needed to guide her through the years.
ReplyDeleteYes probably.............Everything always happens with a reason I guess.
DeleteThey are both beautiful Marianne, but the second one just grabs me! It was such fun and so interesting to see how you make one of these beauties.
ReplyDeleteThanks Teri, glad you enjoyed my posts :)
DeleteI know this all makes sense to you. To me it is a very pretty painting. Thanks for sharing the process.
ReplyDeletei love every single mandala you make, marianne, but this first one with its purples and greens and pinks really calls to me. i know it was the wrong date but suki makes a good point. i'll bet it was just right at the time.
ReplyDeletei hope you are feeling okay.

Hallo Marianne,
ReplyDeleteFijne vakantie!
Sank je wel Brigitte!
DeleteI've missed several days of blogging - it was so fun to look back and see the progression. I bet Arja loves it! I especially like how you included the diagrams such as how to draw a hexagram.
ReplyDeleteHello Sweet Marianne!!!!! I am in awe with your work......perhaps why I never ever tried to create one myself....because I know a master at these!!! you are amazing and I love that you are teaching us about these!!!! Wishing you a super amazing weekend!!!
