World Peace Day

Today is

world
peace
day

One of my favorite mantras is Snatam Kaur's Servant of Peace

Lyrics:

 Aad Sach,
 Jugaad Sach
Haibhay Sach,
 Nanak Hosee Bhay Sach

Prayer of St Francis of Assisi:

 Lord, make me an instrument of Thy Peace;
 Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
 Where there is injury, pardon;
 Where there is doubt, faith;
 Where there is despair, hope;
 Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

 Oh Divine Master,
 Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
 To be understood, as to understand;
 To be loved, as to love;
 For it is in giving that we receive,
 It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
 It is in dying that we are born into eternal life.

Will there be a day that we will all live as one, in peace?
I find it hard to believe. But I would like to..........
I know there are a lot of people with good intentions.
Tonight I will meditate for peace at 8 o'clock together with my mantra group.
Just as thousands will do with me.

How will you celebrate this day?

May peace be with you :)

  2. Ah, Marianne, you know I share your feelings about this. Every time I see a photo or video of two very different animals cuddling - or sharing their space, I wonder why can't the human race do this? No matter what we look like on the outside - we are the same inwards....

    But like you and Lisa - and all of our Blogging Family - I pray - continually for a World filled with Peace and Love.

    Lovely and different selections here....but all convey that exact same message! This is a beautiful post - and a timely one.

    At 8 (your time tonight), I will still be at a rehearsal for *Moby Dick*.... but now, and after for sure (at 8 my time)...I will light my Renee candle and offer some ardent prayers for our world and all who live in it.

    Love to all,

    ♥ Robin ♥

  10. beautiful! I think too many people today don't know the meaning of peace. They're in a hurry to get someplace and think only of themselves.
    Peace begins with us.
    You are a shining example of that.♥

    Beautiful examples above. Thank you for posting all of them.
