Today in Goedereede
I found this clog booth, or whatever you would call this....
In Holland it is something you would keep your wooden shoes in.
Here 2 pairs of wooden shoes a rooster and a Buddha statue.
For me so much symbolism.
Two worlds united. Or three.
Happy Thanksgiving :)
♥♥♥
I wondered if people in Holland still use these wooden clogs. I usually see the ones sold to tourists. Interesting that there is a shoe rack for them. We have had a great Thanksgiving. Thank you. I hope you had a great day too.
ReplyDeleteSome still do Lisa :)
DeleteMy eldest son wore them in his first years He loved them . I painted many of them I guess I need a booth like that too to display them
this little cabinet is adorable. a warm sunny day here and a lovely meal with my son. hope you are well. love suki
ReplyDeleteGlad you shared your day with your Son and the Sun;)
DeleteI love that! I have little wooden shoes here from you :)
ReplyDeleteI just yelled at Emma and I even gave her a spank on the bum for going in the cat box! She's so bad and FAST! The cat box had nothing in it a minute ago.
We just got back from a nice (quick) dinner at my nieces. Lovely, and great food! I have to work a long day tomorrow.
I hope you're well.
Miss you, love you~

ReplyDeleteA wonderful blend of cultures and customs - just like you! I had a fun-filled afternoon and evening with friends across the Bay. I laughed so much, my stomach is still sore! And.... I ate TWO slices of pie - Pumpkin and Pecan....oh my! Today, must do many crunches and take a super long hike to burn some of those calories off!
ReplyDeleteFeel BETTER soon....I'm glad you sent that e-mail to your Zusters.... we miss you so much! (Ooooh...can you believe that little *rascal*, Emma?) A-ha-ha!
Love to all,
