Two Worlds / Twee Werelden

Within 48 hours I witnessed heat and snow. Friday I left for Dar es Salaam to accompany our neighbours Kitty and Job to Kilimanjaro, where we made an intermediate stop. I spent 24 hours in this beautiful country Tanzania. Too short, but long enough to defreeze. My first (warm) sun since November! I enjoyed it very much! I was 24 uur in mooi Tanzania. Near the pool this peacock family entertained me. Mother with 3 chicks, the kids searching for food and sunbathing while mum was on the lookout. When I came home my deers were walking in the snow. It is supposed to be spring here.......... Two gardens. I wish the first one was mine, but it's the one covered with snow. Twee tuinen. Two of my favorite flowers; Plumeria Obtusa; Frangipani, and Adenium Obesum; Desert Rose Twee van mijn favoriete bloemen; Plumeria Obtusa; Frangipani, en Adenium Obesum; Desert Rose I have desert roses at home, but they are doing just like me, trying to survive in the wrong climate. Snowploughs on my way home today. Sneeuwschuivers op weg naar huis vandaag. Our home covered with snow. Ons huis bedekt met een laag sneeuw. The Nobelpoort with on the right hand side the back of our house.

  2. How nice to be so close to the Noblepoort. That path behind the house looks like a walking path.!

I love the way you put this post together, contrasting the warm with the snowy. I myself love heat and so too feel I am trying to thrive in the wrong place. Brrr.

Still, I must say you have only a THIN layer of snow. So far, we have had some melting here, but we still have more snow on the ground than you.

  3. What a cool post! How weird to go through two climates in a short time but they are both beautiful.
