A mandala of goodies

Last Friday when I came home I gave a mini workshop for Tineke and her 2 sisters.

We made a birthmandala in watercolor pencils.

And this little darling came out of hiding. This beauty belongs to Tineke's son and was there for a sleepover.

I LOVE turtle cats! Tineke has a dog and a bird so the animals were well represented.

Life is so much better when animals are around...........................don't you think?

I came home Friday but had to give a mini workshop the same afternoon.

Yesterday we went for a family visit in Loosdrecht, near the water. Perfect place to be with this weather.

Summer has arrived here and it will be hot all week.

Yeah I love it!

Today I MUST do something in the garden which I have neglected in 4 weeks

I also have a lot of chores waiting for me such as laundry and tidying the place up. So again no time to blog much, but I will try to catch up with all of you this week......

Turtles one of my favorite animals of the sea, are in danger in the Golf of Mexico.

Danger caused by human beings.

I am participating in a fundraiser for the animals in the Gulf left to fend for themselves in this more than sticky, life-threatening situation.

These ATC's are sold for $10, all proceeds going to either The Institute For Marine Mammal Studies (http://www.imms.org/) or The International Bird Rescue Research Center (http://www.ibrrc.org/).

Every penny raised will go to these organizations. When the card sells we are emailed the name of the buyer/donor and we sign them and mail them with our thanks and blessings.

Happy Cactus Monday!

Here is my new cactus family member!

Given to me by Marja's son (but she helped him pick the present;))

Isn't it a gorgeous one?!

You see the other 2 are still alive....... a miracle as I am a disaster with plants in the house.

I even managed to kill my Christmas cactus..................

Well I think I can keep this one alive.

By the time this is posted I will be cycling to another island.

And will be camping (and cycling) for 5 days. For me it will be more like surviving........as I am not much of a camper....the cycling part I took care off by buying a bike with electrical support.

Yes!!!!! And I am not even ashamed of it. LOL!

So I won't be able to visit my fellow cactuteers.

But I hope you will have a wonderful Cactus Monday!

W= for Watermelon

Yesterday I finished some ATC 's for the ABC ATC's around the World, which is coming to an end now.

I made the last 4 and will send them out today.

I hardly had any time to do some art lately nor will I get any these coming weeks.

Monday I will go on a school camp as a cook Mom. and the day after I return I will go to Bangkok for 7 days.

I look like a hamster today, my face is swollen (on one side) but I managed yesterday with only 3 painkillers.

The sun is shining here today!

I am preparing this post for tomorrow as I will have to go to the dental surgeon to have 2

apex resections . Guess I won't feel like blogging tomorrow and I really need to do a TT post to show you all the acts of kindness and friendship I have been receiving!

Right now I am in a roller coaster ride of fun things, well except for the dentist yesterday and the dental surgeon on Thursday...... :(

Next week I will go on school camp for 5 days to cook and have to cycle 40 km a day!

Friday I will have to do the shopping and besides a few visits planned for the weekend I have to prepare for next week.

The day after camp I will go to Bangkok for 7 days.

I know I am doing this myself......... but a blank day in my agenda would be nice.

Well the 2 days after I return from bangkok are filled already.

Any suggestions?????

Well I am thankful for being healthy and able to do all these things.

I met a dear colleague, we flew together 24 years ago. Karachi Singapore and a step back to Colombo and we still remember both how special the trip was. We were young and the trips long.

Together with 4 "girls" from our preliminary course.

Eveline, on my right is still a dear friend of mine after 25 years .

When we dropped Marja off we watched Beaudor's digging act.

He is such a naughty sweetheart!

I made this mandala for Maureen's son born in the Year of the Tiger.

It is made with liquid watercolors and micron pen.
