Happy Thanksgiving!

I can make a long list of all the things I am grateful for but the most important ones are my family, (blog)friends and pets. They brighten up my life.
Thank you for being one of them :)
Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. a thanks-giving bounty of hearts: what better reason to be deeply grateful?

i know you are mostly painting corridors and walls and soon-to-be sheds, marianne, but this painting is the most perfect rendition of thanksgiving. it is exquisite.

sometimes i wonder how it is that friends find one another. and with the rise of world wide blogging in my life, i wonder how it is that true blue friendships are planted and thrive through vast miles.

i wonder all this and then i think of you and smile, marianne. ♥ i'm grateful for your friendship!

    love

  6. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you had a wonderful day!

I am thankful for so many things, but this year I am thankful for 11 wonderful years with my beloved Gizzy who is watching me from above! I received a lovely poem in a message on FB yesterday and I wanted to share it with you, knowing what a big animal lover you are too, but CAUTION, get your handkerchief ready - it will make you cry:

    A Little Dog Angel

High up in the courts of heaven today
    a little dog angel waits;
with the other angels he will not play,
but he sits alone at the gates.
"For I know my mistress will come" says he,
"and when she comes she will call for me."

The other angels pass him by
As they hurry toward the throne,
And he watches them with a wistful eye
as he sits at the gates alone.
"but I know if I just wait patiently
that someday my mistress will call for me."

And his mistress , down on earth below,
as she sits in her easy chair,
    forgets sometimes, and whispers low
to the dog who is not there.
And the little dog angel cocks his ears
and dreams that his mistress's voice he hears.

And when at last his mistress waits
outside in the dark and cold,
for the hand of death to open the door,
that leads to those courts of gold,
She will hear a sound through the gathering dark,
    a little dog angel's bark.

    -----------------

Of course, I thought of Gizzy and I trust he'll be waiting for me too!

Thank you, Marianne, for always being so kind and sweet to me. I love you!
