Thankful Thursday / Frida

Although I have a lot to be thankful for ,

(a few things I will show you next week)

I want to dedicate this TT to this special gift I got from Lolo.

Maybe some of you remember these shots of when I got Frida from Lo in August when I visited her in RI.

Be still my heart!!!!

That is where I felt the present.....

I knew I was going to get a painting and I knew it would take my breath away!

I knew it would be something I loved......

But it was beyond expectation!

1/2 hour before I left to Bangkok (14 days ago) the postman rang.....

And in my uniform I unpacked Frida, she arrived save and sound.

For the time being I hanged her in the hall.

We were reunited and had to say goodbye at the same time.......

Sunday, the day after I came home, I hanged her where Felix suggested.

Above my PC. This is where I start and end my day when I am at home.

Since Sunday I drink coffee with Frida in the morning (2 cups at least) Drink a glass of wine in the afternoon and we both say cheers to Lolo and life!

(Viva la Vida!)

When I paint, Frida is watching me just like she watches Spook and Minoes drink from my water glass.

I love her company. I love the idea that Lo and I both have each others painting at the same place.

She looks at me reassuring and calm. She looks at me happy and reminds me to be happy too!

This is a very special gift from a very special friend!

How can I ever thank you enough?!

Frida is home now and I am very thankful for that!

I got her twice, once in RI and once again when she came home, I am thankful for that!

Besides I will enjoy her company for the rest of my life I am thankful for this special friendship I found while blogging.

Thank you Lo!

Animal Wednesday / Animals in Bangkok.

Compared with our pets you sometimes are shocked to see how some animals have to live and survive on the streets........

(Big brother was also allowed to join the buffet)

You can measure civilization by the way people treat their animals.

And Thai people take care of their animals in the best possible way.

They really do the best they can.

I have never seen them treat animals bad.

The Thai people are very friendly, both to human and animals. I think one of the reasons might be that 95% of the population is Buddhist. I wish it was of the world population.........

Blooming Tuesday / Flowers from Bangkok

A few shots with flowers from BKK.

I just love it that you find orchids everywhere!

And my favorite plant the desert rose

This was taken on our longtale boat trip through the klongs.

Our panties were still dry there.....I was happy that we ended in that thunderstorm in the end of the trip so we managed to see everything first.

Real lotus flowers in the Quan Yin temple in Chinatown.

Notice how they fold those outer petals.

This was near the golden Buddha in Chinatown, I brought these for Lolo as well, only a smaller bunch ;)

Can't decide which flower is more beautiful Marja or the orchids beside her....

Back from bangkok

Have been away to bangkok for 9 days.

Nine days without much internet but packed with a lot of fun.

I took my friend Marja with me.

We walked a lot, shopped a lot and enjoyed wonderful Thai dinners.

We saw a lot, ended up in a long tail boat in a thunderstorm and we got wet to our panties.

A trip filled with fun, inspiration and adventure.

I have some catching up to do, which I will try to realize this coming week.

And I will show you some more pictures soon!

JB's Mandala / Animal Wednesday

I couldn’t come empty handed for JB in P-town, so I made her a birth mandala too.

In both mandalas I included two symbols who were on my wish list for a very long time, but these things just need the right moment to be used.

In JB’s mandala I finally could use the daffodil, which felt good in hers.

Daffodil’s have meanings of faith, honesty, truth, forgiveness, and forthrightness. They are ever vigilant in returning each spring, and with their return we are reminded that their beauty is capable of following on the shirttails of even the harshest winters (or tribulations).

After meeting JB I think the daffodil is perfect in her mandala, a beautiful symbolic meaning.

Spiral

Some consider the spiral a symbol of the spiritual journey. It is also considered to represent the evolutionary process of learning and growing. It seems that life doesn't proceed in a straight line. The path of life more closely resemble a spiral. We seem to pass the same point over and over again but from a different perspective each time. To walk and then stand in the center of a spiral or labyrinth has been a psycho-spiritual exercise for centering the consciousness.

This mandala I painted for Lolo. One of my favorite symbols in her favorite color blue..

I just hope it will give you a good feeling by looking at it dear ♥

Cactus Monday / Adenium Obesum

Since succulents are officially allowed in cactus Monday here is my favorite one.

Adenium Obesum .

I just love it's flowers. They nearly look unreal, just like orchids.

I have 4 in my home and they are surviving my care. I am a killer with plants.....

I even managed to kill my Christmas Cactus...... (shame on me).
