Happy Birthday Robin!!!!!

Happy birthday Princess!

The Heron or Egret is symbolic in many cultures.

In Egypt the Heron is honored as the creator of light. A double headed Heron in Egypt is symbolic of prosperity.

As a Chinese symbol the Heron represents strength, purity, patience and long life.

In Africa, the Heron was thought to communicate with the Gods.

Most Native American tribes took note of the heron’s inquisitiveness, curiosity and determination. As such this set the heron as a symbol of wisdom in that this creature seemed to have good judgment skills.

As a water creature the heron is also a symbol of going with the flow, and working with the elements of Mother nature rather than struggling against her.

The heron is a beautiful creature, exhibiting grace, and noble stature. It’s no wonder the Native Indians and ancients honored the heron throughout the centuries.

I think this animal suits Robin so very well.

Thankful Thursday / Healing friends

Today I am thankful that dear Bliss is on the road to recovery after a severe health crisis!

And Marja, Robin and Lo are following the good example example♥

The sun is shining here. This picture I took earlier this week and I saw a triple rainbow! I just hoped then it was a good sign and thank goodness it was.

Hope you have a lot to be thankful for too!

An oldie which I just found on my pc again.

It is Sjimmie's encounter with a present I got last year.

Sjimmie has been in a fight and his ear was badly damaged last week.

I always put calendula with lavender on wounds and his ear has healed beautifully.

I am so happy it is still in one piece........

Every 14 days I go to Mantra singing.

I really can't sing, but they haven't kicked me out yet ;)

This little ATC I made for my Mantra teacher Tineke.

Instead of just giving her the money (a small amount btw) I out it in a organza bag with an ATC. So much nicer to give that way.

I am of to make her an ATC for this week.

This is one of the mantras we sung 14 days ago , but with in a slightly different melody

Let's see what tonight brings...........I look forward to an evening of meditation and singing.

Thankful Thursday / Old friends

Sometimes life is full of unexpected "coincidences". On my way to Kuala Lumpur I met singer Daniel Sahuleka on board and I had a nice talk with him and his lovely wife. They were on their way to Indonesia, where Daniel is still a very famous singer and Honorary Citizen of Jakarta. Don't forget to click on the YouTube video and listen to his beautiful song. I knew his music from 30 years ago. At that time he was very popular in the town near Rotterdam, where I lived for a couple of years. A town with a large Moluccan community. During our conversation I mentioned 2 friends from that period , a Moluccan and an Indonesian girlfriend. He suggested to search for them on Hyves and Facebook. In Kuala Lumpur I talked to a colleague of mine and we found out we both lived in the same town in the same period and we had a few friends in common. All this happened in one trip! Sunday when I returned home I went on Hyves and found both girlfriends from 30 years ago! I feel blessed to have found my old school friends again. Both girls are still friends and one married the brother of the other and are family now! Sometimes the internet takes a lot of your time, Facebook, Blogging, Hyves you name it but I have learned it brings people (back) together as well. Friendships made, and friends reunite. I am thankful for all the new friends I made with blogging, the possibility to keep in touch with old friends and family on Facebook and for the lost friends I found again through Hyves! You make my world so colorful ;) Happy Thankful Thursday! Hope you have a lot to be thankful for as well.

Animal Wednesday / Feeding fish

I made this video in Kuala Lumpur last week.

It is not easy making a video with a cell phone in one hand and feeding the fish with the other........

So it's not the best of quality. Just wanted to show you the enormous amount of fish in that pond and how hungry they were. Next time I will bring a few kilo fish food from home.....

Happy Birthday Marian!

This is the second mandala I ever painted.

I guess now I would do it differently just like everything else in life.

I am not the person to say I would do everything in my life the same way......

But I would certainly be friends with Marian again!!!!

She is a gem!

Having your birthday on the 10/10 2010 is special just like she is!

Today I returned from a short trip.

I will watch TV now and will fall asleep with hopefully some pets on top of me.

Tomorrow I will try to catch up with all of you and life in general!

Thankful Thursday / a lot to be thankful for!

After 3 years Spook came to sit on my lap for the very first time!!

Can't tell you how thrilled I was! And deeply thankful for her coming around like that.

Of course there are a hundred little steps from the moment we got her but with this step she let my heart jump with joy!

The picture is blurry and if I would have known my little princess was going to jump on my lap I would have put on a royal outfit.........and some lipstick ;)

Other things that made me happy and thankful (in random order):

A package arrived from Emily or was it KJ with a lovely card!

Still thankful for meeting you this summer!

Inside a lovely Frida doll to take with me in the suitcase or to keep my other treasures company? I haven't decided yet......

The doll is from Yoborobo, who makes all kinds of whimsical creations!

But what a cool gift, I haven't played with dolls in a long time . Thanks Emily for making me connect with my inner child again!

Unfortunately I can't show you the ginger cookies anymore. I finished them all in one evening......(read one hour)

Oh oh they were too good! A new favorite of mine.

Cactus Monday / Yellow Bloom on Purple Cactus

I started my Cactus Monday by painting this ATC.

And made pictures for TT.

Have been busy, but mostly with good things.

Helped my Mom one day when she got a new floor.Friday I painted something for a friend, which I will show later. I went to mantra singing.

Saturday I had to play tennis and Sunday we worked in the garden and met Marja, Ruud and and Beaudor on the beach. It was gorgeous weather and we had a wonderful get together.

Koekie and Droppie met Beaudor for the first time (see pictures here) and they became friends! I am happy for that, so now we can walk together more often.

The girls enjoyed being on the beach and were very impressed by the size of Beaudor and the sound of his bark. At the restaurant he protected his little girlfriends by barking at 2 dangerously looking big dogs. The smaller ones were allowed to pass without warnings :)
