Outside

Sjimmie is 13 weeks now. He is fearless! And smart. He has discovered the dog door and the garden. In the garden lots of new adventures are waiting for him! The speed of all his discoveries is worrying me....... Sjimmie is 13 weken. A tree and he is in! The 3 other cats are watching him with admiration and surprise; the 2 Holy Birmans have never been in a tree and Troelie has to loose weight first before trying again at her age. What's this? Empty.............ok let's go on. Wat is dit? Leeg.............ok we gaan verder On my way to the top. Op weg naar de top. He believes the bird will wait for him, while he moves on. But the bird flew away. How to get down now? Maar de vogel vliegt weg. Hoe nu naar beneden? I'm lucky to have my claws................ Gelukkig heb ik mijn nagels................. A mole has discovered my new lawn and has destroyed it in a few days. I really love all animals and I can not harm any of them, even if they ruin my lawn or eat my plants or whatever. Nature is for all living creatures. We have to share this earth and live in harmony with eatch other. Or am I going to catch this mole..........................? Nah..............I don't think so. Of ga ik die mol vangen....................? Nah..............ik dacht het niet. My hope is this device. It makes a sound every now and then and is supposed to scare the mole away. I rather have him as my neighbor. next to my garden near the Nobelpoort are a lot of moles . I hope he will find his way back to his family again.

  3. Well he is some brave kitty. My cats used to come down backwards. Poor little mole. Have you ever read "The Wind in the Willows?" A children's book about animals. The mole made me think of it.

  4. Hi Fannie,
Sure it would be a great name for that great cat of yours!

    Hi Soulbrush,
Never a dull moment with Sjimmie around.................
Yak.

Hi Suki yes poor Mole, now he finally found the ideal lawn and I am chasing him away with this pole......
It is far better than using glass, waterhoses, pins or traps I think.
Moles are cute little diggers and very beautiful.
I didn't read the book as a child , but my husband did. He was brought up in Australia (in English) I had to read in Dutch
But I looked it up and the story sounded familiar to me. That's because I saw The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, an adaptation by Disney.
I found you download it as EBOOK.
    have a nice sunday!

  5. Seems you've found a good middle ground in dealing with the mole--remembering that our well tended green lawns are the real intruders, not moles.

Wonderful photo-story of your cat climbing the tree.

  6. I love it when you feature Sjimmie-he is even more adorable and now smarter too. Give him a hug! :)

Let us know if that device works as we are troubled with those darn things also.

  7. Marianne! What a kitty Sjimmie is! He has a great sense of adventure to be sure...and what a beautiful cat!

And the mole...you sound like me. I don't even call myself a great animal lover, but I am a life and nature lover. You are right, nature has it's balance...I am not one who understands a great deal of control over nature. I hope your sound device works, though.

    Have a Lovely Day!

  12. Aw, so cute! I am the same way you are. Today a yellow-jacket wanted to share my snack, so I pinched some off and set it aside for the insect. When I had mice in my house, I found I could get them to vacate by using peppermint oil on cotton balls in the drawers and around.
