Cactus Monday (#44)

Prickly Pear Fruit (not available) I forgot to use my micron pen here so I just painted it with watercolor. When I use the micron pen over the watercolor I have the idea my pen ruins easily. Something that happen anyhow, these pens never last long in my hands..... Does anyone have an idea why this is? What do I do wrong? Advice is welcome! Happy Cactus Monday!

Thankful Thursday (#13)

Among the things to be thankful for (in random order) these beauties from Margaret! Mail from her is always a pleasure to receive! I haven't yet seen a piece from her I didn't like, so trading is always fun! Thanks Margaret!

I just returned from Vancouver and I am still groggy from the flight, the lack of sleep and the time difference........ This is the view from my window where I am blogging and painting when not tired. Mums and children are doing fine, the fawns are growing and playing and showing themselves often now. Here they are relaxing just in front of my window. The house is filled with the smell of honey and garlic. My DH is preparing dinner. My holiday has begun! I will spend the first 10 days at home and the 1st of August we will go to Sweden. To spend time with family and friends and to bring my father home(we will bring his ashes to Sweden). I am grateful Lolo arrived home safe and sound and that she is back in action! Well I can make an endless list.......................so for now Happy Thankful Thursday!

Lady Bug Mandala

Ladybug: Perhaps best known as an emblem of luck, the Ladybug is a love symbol too. Asian traditions hold to the belief that if caught and then released, the Ladybug will faithfully fly to your true love and whisper your name in his/her ear. Upon hearing the Ladybug's message your true love will hurry his/her way to your side. Ancient farmers of the land have considered the Ladybug a good omen as she controls aphid populations. The number of spots on a Ladybug's back is said to indicate the number of months to pass before the wish for love comes true. It's Friday!

This is one of the ATC's made in Dubai. The rest of the time there I spend sleeping and I read a small book. I came back with a cold. It was warm here too yesterday. This night we had tremendous rain and lightning. Have a nice day! (this ATC is not available for trade, See my ATC blog for available ones) Dit is één van de ATC's, die ik in Dubai gemaakt heb. De rest van de tijd heb ik geslapen en een boekje gelezen. Ik ben teruggekomen met een verkoudheid gisteren en het was hier ook erg warm. Vannacht heeft het gigantisch geregend en geonweerd. Thanks all for your wonderful get well wishes, I think they have helped because I feel much better! The thing about allowing myself to be ill is that all of a sudden I feel how tired I am. It is like taking the key out of a running car, it falls still and then I can't seem to get it to run anymore......... I have been doing a lot of sleeping. It has been raining here since Monday, so perfect weather to spend time on the couch. I will start work this week again. Have a nice Sunday!

Purple Moon and Stars

I haven't been feeling well lately so instead of going to Panama I stayed home. Koekie was ill too so we spent a few days at the couch together. The best things in life have fleas. So true. Inside there was fudge from England, which is already finished....... with the help of all my men here.

I got this painting from my DH today! I have had my eyes on it since last year. It is painted by a friend of us Martin Immerzeel, who is a fabulous painter. Unfortunately he doesn't have a site.............so I can't show you more of his work. I'm so happy with this gift!

This is Lolo's surprise! A wonderful lotus mandala box with cards and mandala magnets. I LOVE these treasures! And I love to be friends with you Lolo. Thank you so much dear!

And this beauty is a gift from my son Lars! Happy 4th of July, wherever you are! Hope you can celebrate life and freedom today.

Thankful Thursday (#12)

Where to start with showing all the wonderful things I have been receiving lately?! Uploads in random order; I got my G= for grape from Teri, which is for the ABC ATC's Around the World trades. The grapes, I just love fermented grape juice...........Did she know that? The card is gorgeous, the colors so vibrant. The card came with a specially made mandala card for me and a cat ATC, which I really wanted to have and now it is mine!!!!! Love those dreamy eyes........ And a sweet inchie. Thanks so much Teri!

Lisa send me this C= for Cat (what else.....) Love this cheeky looking cat! And as a surprise I got this owl ATC, which I have been drooling over. I just love them. Thanks Lisa and please let me know which ATC you want in return. (on my ATC blog)

Margaret sent me these gorgeous ATC's, which we traded, together with a beautiful card. Look at the envelop! There is a little piece of art on all her envelopes. I just love all that she creates! The picture doesn't do the ATC's justice, but like all things I show here, it looks so much better in person. Thanks Margaret!

My dear friend Soul sent me this tea-towel, which I will save for my new kitchen, so that's why you can't see the real African beauty here, but over here you can admire it without the plastic! She also sent me 4 inchies, no I will not start with , noSoul I won't (not just yet.........)! But they sure are cute!!!!! Dank je wel lieve schat!

This is my E= for Elephant, which I got from Linda. Wish you could hold this card in your own hands so you could see the true beauty of it. So you just have to take my word for it. Also an extra ATC, with a nest with 3 eggs on it. The nest is haunting me for months already........... (Laure's ATC came with a nest-card as well) Thanks Linda!

And this wonderful surprise came from Julie. A beautiful ATC with a camee cat. I saw it on her blog and thought "oh I wish it was mine!". and reading the post I found out she made it for me, how cool is that?! I also love the Mary Engelbreit notepaper. We both love her work.

And this surprise came yesterday from Lolo! It looks so gorgeous, doesn't it?! Almost too beautiful to unwrap............... but I will Saturday! So we must stay in suspence for a few more days........... As you know Lolo is on the road now to her new home and I felt so thankful that in the period she was so busy packing she thought about my birthday! Amazing Lolo! Travel safe my dear friend. We all miss you, I do for sure. Hope you all have a wonderful day with lots of things to be thankful for.

The fawns are doing well, but still hard to spot. The mothers try to hide them in the beginning. Saturday the local newspaper came and the fawns were in the shed. The reporter took pictures, but he used my picture for the announcement. Happy Animal Wednesday!
