Back from Bejing

Mandala in Chinese style for Vera (from 2004)
Chinese Symbol for Happiness
I am back from Bejing. Had a good time there. Unfortunately I couldn't visit your blogs because they were blocked (guess they have censorship over there) so I have been 3 days without blogging! I have a lot of catching up to do which I will try this weekend. Here are a few impressions from Beijing. The weather was foggy, which gave a spooky atmosphere to everything. I have never seen fog and high temperatures together..... I am used to fog in the winter here. This trip I discovered the subway there which is a perfect way of transportation. I was the only foreigner in the subway! I felt safe and efficient. Beside shopping I visit the Lama Temple, which was beautiful. Some pictures and video´s I made with my phone, not the best of quality.... On my way home from Schiphol I collected my Nikon in Rotterdam, which is brand new again, so glad to have it back! Have a nice weekend!

  4. Marianne,
I spent 10 days in Hong Kong in 2006 and it was such a life changing experience. Thank you for sharing your visit to China with us. I really admire your work. One day I am going to try making a Mandalay.

  8. Welcome back to your "home sweet home"!

Your oriental mandala is fascinating...as are your photos...I wonder if a lot of the fogginess is due to pollution??? At any rate it created a bit of an exotic aura to your shots...:)

Thanks for sharing visits to wonderful faraway places I only dream of visiting! :)
